Form a team of 3-4 people before the night and RSVP your team name, team captain’s contact details and team members’ names to auckland@upa.org.nz before February 28th. Take the challenge of solving a design problem revealed on the night and design a solution in front of your peers in just ten minutes and scored by 3 guest judges.

MakingLifeEasy.Org & Red Balloons in the Streets of Wellington
One of the great initiatives of this year’s World Usability Day is the little big project called MakingLifeEasy.org
Come and learn how the Bank of New Zealand and Trade Me have introduced usability into their organisations!
As part of World Usability Day, we would like to encourage you to bring your boss, colleagues and friends along to our next UPA meeting and celebration on Tuesday 14th November.
Webstock is presenting a “day of edification and an evening of entertainment for your web-related pleasure and education”.
Speakers include Trade Me’s user tester, Natasha Hall (pictured); acclaimed blogger, media commentator Russell Brown; and O’Reilly author, Perl guru and Web 2.0 commentator, Nat Torkington.
Natasha will be talking on Usability - Trade Me style, Russell will give the scoop from his recent junket research trip to the States, and Nat will talk about “Seven Threads in Web 2.0”
UPANZ Auckland: In our September meeting (Tuesday 26th September 2006), David Pomeroy will teach us about Information Architecture.
He’ll cover all facets of this topic:
Understanding the need for good site structure, an explanation of the various processes used to gather and then analyse information, and an audience-participation exercise showing how to produce a site structure that works (and is future proofed).
David will also explain the following: sitemaps, prototypes, wireframes, and he’ll explain how Information Architecture works alongside Usability and Accessibility to create websites that work.
