Our Chapter bylaws state that once people have attended three UPA NZ Chapter or cluster events that they are then expected to become members of the UPA NZ Chapter. Please do not be offended if you are asked to pay an additional entry fee to an event if you have attended three or more times.

The UPANZ Chapter is made up of individual and corporate members. The Chapter’s mission is to empower people from the design, technology and research communities in NZ to achieve their full potential (too broad) and realise their goals as user-centred designers and usability professionals.

UPA members are employed in a wide variety of fields, including hardware and software design and development; banking and investing; telecommunications; transportation, marketing; insurance; education and aceadmia; government services; research; and consulting. Regardless of their industry or discipline, UPA members are colleagues in pursuit of a common goal: better products and services, better working, and better living through usability.

UPA members believe that usability, like quality, should be an integral part of products and services, and they work towards raising awareness of usability professionals’ role in the global marketplace, in education, and in government.

Through networking, publications and conferences, UPA and the UPANZ Chapter can help you achieve your professional goal — the development of usable, efficient, effective and economical products and services.

UPANZ Chapter Membership

Membership to the UPANZ Chapter is additional to UPA membership. Membership to the UPANZ Chapter is open to anyone who belongs to the UPA and does not belong to another UPA Chapter.

Membership Dues

The UPA NZ Chapter is not currently charging a membership fee.
